They say that into every life a little rain must fall, especially if you are a female trapped in a romance comic. I never read romance comics much, and more's the pity, because I could have learned a lot about the fairer sex, such as what makes them cry. Turns out, pretty much anything...

Jacque, I'm so glad you enjoyed this post! Unfortunately, I did not have time to identify every issue from which these panels were extracted. All I can say for sure is that these panels were pulled from DC romance comics from 1957 thru 1968.

ReplyDeleteAnonymous, "Why Chicks Cry" is not a reflection of my own personal feelings towards women. It's merely a riff on the fact that romance comics featured crying women every ten panels or so. I'm making fun of the stereotype, not endorsing it.
