Breaking News: The perpetrator of this currently-defunct blog, one John Glenn Taylor, has recently been spotted in Oregon. He is operating under the alias Bon Bock (bahn bahk) and was last sighted playing hashtag games on Twitter. Subject has two arms, so he should be considered "armed." However, he poses no danger, so approach with a complete lack of caution.

Pogo Cartoonified

While we're on the subject of Pogo, here is The Pogo Special Birthday Special, directed by Chuck Jones and aired in 1969. It's curious to note that Walt Kelly was largely dissatisfied with this production, and as a result the second Pogo animated cartoon, 1970's We Have Met The Enemy, And He Is Us was entirely written and animated by Walt and his wife Selby, herself a respected animator.

  1. It's not hard to tell why Kelly was disatisfied; while the characters are his, everything about the cartoon has the stronger stamp of Jones. Not difficult to fathom -- two dynamic personalities -- and the one who was in the studio day-in/day-out making their mark.
I'd never seen this before, thanks for posting it.
